The Site provides a directory and independent rankings of local businesses. You may browse the Site for personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to:
Business information (names, ratings, contact details, descriptions, etc.) is sourced from publicly available data including Google Business Profiles and from the businesses themselves, and may not always be current or complete. We make no warranty as to the accuracy or completeness of any business listing. Always verify contact details and credentials with the business directly before engaging their services.
Every business listed on the Site is an independent third party. The Site is a directory and information service only. We do not employ, control, supervise, train or manage any listed business, and a listing on the Site does not constitute a recommendation, endorsement or warranty of any kind regarding that business, its operators, its work, its products or its services.
Important. Home Services Pros is not a party to any agreement between you and a home services professional or any other business listed on the Site. Any contract for goods or services is made directly between you and the business you choose to engage.
We accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, delay, defect, dispute, financial loss or other harm arising from work carried out, services provided, advice given, products sold, or representations made by any business listed on the Site - whether that business is verified, featured, recommended, paid or unpaid. Any complaint, claim, refund request or dispute must be raised directly with the business concerned.
Where we display a verification badge (for example “ID Verified” or “Trust Verified”), the badge indicates only that we have completed specific checks at a point in time. Circumstances change, and we cannot guarantee that a business’s qualifications, insurance, registration, ownership, conduct or standards remain current. A verification badge is not a guarantee of the quality, reliability, safety, or outcome of any work performed.
You are solely responsible for the decision to engage any business listed on the Site. We strongly recommend that before agreeing to any work or making any payment you:
Following these steps significantly reduces your risk, regardless of whether a business holds one of our verification badges. By using the Site you acknowledge that you assume full responsibility for vetting any business before engaging their services.
Star ratings and review counts shown on the Site are aggregated from third-party platforms (primarily Google) and reflect the opinions of those reviewers, not of Home Services Pros. We do not independently verify individual reviews and we make no representation about their accuracy. Reviews can be removed, edited or contested by the originating platform at any time.
For Featured and Recommended businesses, the rating and number of reviews shown on a business’s profile may also include its rating and number of reviews on other platforms. Our team checks those figures on each platform before adding them and re-checks them at least every six months. They are the figures shown on the platform on the day we checked, and we do not copy the reviews themselves. They also count towards the business’s position in our rankings (see Section 7).
Our rankings are editorially independent. Businesses may pay for a placement tier (Pro, Featured or Recommended), which affects where they appear and is disclosed via tier labels on listings. Within each tier, businesses are ordered mainly by their rating and number of reviews, with businesses whose main category matches the page listed first. For Featured and Recommended businesses, ratings from other platforms that our team has checked (see Section 6) also count, weighted slightly below Google reviews. A higher ranking position is not a guarantee of suitability for your specific job and does not relieve you of your due-diligence responsibilities under Section 5.
When a homeowner posts a project through our Post a Project form, we send their details to a maximum of three local businesses in the category they have chosen. Leads are included in the Featured and Recommended plans at no extra cost. There is no charge per lead.
8.1) Which area a lead belongs to. We match each lead to the city we cover that is nearest to the homeowner’s ZIP code, provided it is within 25 miles. If that city has no verified Featured or Recommended business in the category, the lead goes to the next nearest city within 25 miles that has one.
8.2) Verification. Featured and Recommended businesses must pass both ID Verification and Trust Verification, which are included in both plans, before they start to receive leads. Until both checks are passed, the business keeps its listing and badge, but leads for its area are sent to other eligible businesses instead and are not re-sent once verification is complete.
8.3) Recommended. The Recommended business receives every lead for its category in its city.
8.4) Featured. Each category in each city has room for up to four Featured businesses. The remaining places on each lead go to Featured businesses: two places when the Recommended business receives the lead, or three when it does not. Featured businesses whose listed services match the project are offered the lead first, and the places are rotated so that leads are shared evenly over time. With a Recommended business and four Featured businesses in place, each Featured business receives about half of the leads; with fewer Featured businesses, each receives a larger share.
8.5) Lead numbers. The number of leads depends on how many homeowners post projects in your category and area, so we cannot guarantee a number of leads. Any lead figures on our pricing pages are estimates.
8.6) Homeowner details. Each lead includes the homeowner’s name and contact details. You may use them only to respond to that project, and you must handle them in line with applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws, including any rules on calling or texting consumers.
Featured and Recommended businesses in eligible categories may buy our Google Local Services Ads management service from their dashboard. It is a one-off setup fee plus a monthly management fee, as shown on the dashboard at the time of purchase. For those fees we set up the business’s Local Services Ads account and Google verification, optimize its Google Business Profile, build and maintain the campaign, dispute with Google any lead the business flags to us as not genuine, and send a monthly summary.
9.1) Ad spend. The cost of the adverts themselves is set by the business’s budget and charged by Google to the business directly. It is not included in our fees, and we have no control over what Google charges.
9.2) Google’s decision. Google decides whether a business may run Local Services Ads and runs its own checks, including background checks on the business and its owner through Google’s verification partner. We cannot guarantee that Google will approve a business or how long its checks will take. The setup fee pays for our setup work and is not refunded if Google declines or later suspends the business; we will keep working with the business to resolve the reason where we can.
9.3) Leads and results. The number and quality of leads depend on Google, the business’s budget, its reviews and response times, and local demand. We do not guarantee a number of leads or any result. It is for the business to tell us which leads it believes are not genuine; we do not review every call or message. Google only accepts a dispute within 30 days of the lead, so a lead must be flagged to us within 21 days of receiving it, and Google credits disputed leads at its own discretion.
9.4) Access and information. The business must give us the access and information we need, including access to its Google accounts, and must respond to requests from Google and its verification partner. Delays in doing so delay the setup.
9.5) Cancellation. The monthly fee can be cancelled at any time from the dashboard and stops at the end of the current billing period. On cancellation we stop managing the account; the business keeps its Google accounts and remains responsible for any ad spend.
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including the websites of listed businesses. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, security or privacy practices of those sites and your use of them is at your own risk.
All original content on the Site, including editorial copy, design, methodology and rankings, is owned by Home Services Pros or its licensors. You may not reproduce or redistribute any content without prior written consent, except for brief quotations with attribution.
The Site and all content on it are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, security, or freedom from viruses, errors or interruptions. We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality, suitability or performance of any business, individual, work or service listed on or contacted through the Site.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Services Pros, its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates shall not be liable to you or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, savings, business or use, arising out of or in connection with:
This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based (contract, tort, statute or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud).
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Home Services Pros, its owners, officers, employees, contractors and affiliates from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your breach of these Terms; or (c) any dispute between you and a business listed on the Site, including any claim relating to work performed, services rendered, payments made, products supplied, or any act or omission of that business.
If you have had a poor experience with a listed business, we encourage you to let us know. While we cannot mediate disputes or compel a business to act, repeated, credible reports may lead us to suspend a listing or remove a verification badge. Reporting a concern to us does not replace your right to pursue the business directly through small-claims court, your state attorney general’s consumer protection office, your card issuer’s chargeback process, or any other route available to you.
We may update these Terms at any time. The “Last updated” date above will reflect changes. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Site or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory rights you may have under the consumer-protection laws of your country or state of residence, or your right to bring proceedings in your local courts where such laws so provide.
